2016 Season: Week 5
Holy crap it's week 5 already.
How is everyone's season going? Real NFL, Madden, whatever? Can I just say, fuck the Bears? There's a lot of talk swirling that John Fox is a fucking asshole who won't get along with the GM and goes crying to the owners to get what he wants (cutting Gould, giving "his guys" deals and tryouts, and forcing promotions to coaches out of their depth.) No wonder this season is a shit show. THankfully I've got my Huskers in the top 15 and my Cubs with home field advantage through the NL Playoffs to tide me over.
In the league, scouting this draft class is disheartening. I haven't found a stud player to target yet. But that could just be because of having to spend 15 points first then 10 and 5 instead of the 5-10-15 of last year's Madden.
I'd also like to plug my trade block. I've got 2 80+ rated DE/OLBs looking for an opportunity. Pass rushing is difficult it seams, so if you're making a push, send me an offer.

I was considering the Buccs vs Panthers as GotW, but there's no certainty that Capeman shows up. Instead we'll go with two past AALoA champions squaring off. YtBalla owns a commanding lead in the series, as I've only beaten him once. Both teams have porous offensive lines. It should be an interesting matchup.
Week advances no later than Tuesday night.

Chicago management may pull an LSU and start looking for a new head coach mid-season. Bears fall in humiliating fashion with about 35 penalties called against them. It's obvious the team has no discipline when its best play tries to catches balls with nothing but the back of his helmet.

Defense, Defense and more Defense!!!

We're only a quarter of the way into the season but so far the reviews have been very positive for the Philadelphia Eagles, their new Head Coach and their rookie signal caller. QB Carson Wentz had his second perfect QB Rating (158.3) in four games while throwing for 2 scores and zero turnovers as the Eagles defeated the Lions 45-14 to improve to 4-0 on the season. While the rookie QB was good, this game was all about the Eagles defense.
When you start a rookie QB, you always want to take as much pressure off of him as possible by playing good defense, running the ball effectively and winning the field position battle via special teams. Well, Carson Wentz couldn't have asked for a better start. The Eagles kicked off to the Lions and promptly created havoc causing Matthew Stafford to fumble and then scooping it and returning it for a score. On the Lions very next offensive play, FS Malcom Jenkins stepped in front of a Stafford pass and returned it for a TD. On the Lions third possession of the game the Eagles would once again pick off Stafford giving Carson Wentz and the Eagles their first opportunity already up 14-0. On the first offensive play for the Eagles, RB Ryan Mathews went off tackle for 30+ yard TD run. The Eagles led 21-0 while running 1 offensive play and the rookie QB yet to throw a pass. Coach Posky and the Lions tried their best but could not mount a comeback as the Eagles defense would force 8 turnovers (including once on downs at the goalline) to thwart any attempt. The Eagles took a 45-14 lead into halftime and neither team scored in the second half.
Next up for the Eagles is their first division game vs the Washington Redskins.
GG Posky but tough breaks, especially to start the game.

Cowboys knock off the CPU Bengals, 34-10.
Romo: 9-10, 124 yards, 1 TD
Zeke: 24 carries, 74 yards, 1 TD
Dalton was miserable. Got picked off 3 times, twice by Brandon Carr, and fumbled. Two of his turnovers were returned for TDs.
On to Lambeau for a matchup with the 1-2 Packers.

Giants outlast Packers 23-21
Competitive battle throughout, the Giants outlasted Green Bay 23-21 to remain undefeated.
Rodgers outplayed Eli, but the Giants stepped up on a couple huge 3rd and 4th and short yardage situations to tip the scales in their favor.
It was not a balanced attack, as Eli threw it 42 times for 361 yards. The Giants ran 10 times for 9 yards as their run game remained an afterthought.
Eli spread the wealth with 4 receivers with 4+ receptions but Beckham led the way with 8/122 and 2TD.
The defense didn't play well aside from several key stops. Janoris added another pick but Rodgers carver through the secondary most of the game. A Giants missed XP and a Packers mistaken timeout made this game even more nerve wracking but in the end, the Giants prevailed.
