2015 Season - Week 8

A lot's happened the last few days. Of note, Sony updated the PS4 firmware. The 3.0 update is fairly large. I'll be exploring YouTube streaming to see if it offers a better experience.  EA patched Madden with a big update. A number of fixes to make gameplay better for defenders, as well as some Franchise fixes that won't take place until season 2.  While football season is in full swing, basketball season is right around the corner. Ken was curious who'd be joining him in NBA Live this year, as opposed to the Spike Lee Joint that is 2K16. Both games look better than ever.

On your PS4, I sent invites to the AALoA community. It looks like it offers a group wall, as well as a way to interact with other league members, whether they're on your friend list or not. If you did not receive an invite, because Sony software is shit (amazing hardware though), then request to join the league.

Two buddies squaring off, always a riot to hear the conversation between two people with a longtime gaming history square off. Stacked defense vs stacked offense. Which gives this week?

Week 9 opens Saturday night...Mayyyybe Sunday Morning haha.

Dolphins defense continues to roll, smothering the Pats in Foxboro, and getting the win 27-3. Dolphins improve to 6-1 with a tough game in Buffalo up next where another win could basically seal the division.

With AFC Playoff Picture beginning to take shape, Miami has its eyes on a Top-2 seed & that first-round bye.

Texans defeat Titans 31-10 in a very close division matchup. The Texans jumped out to a lead after Mariota showed his youth early when he fumbled fighting for extra yards. He rebounded admirably though and rallied his team to keep the game within one possession heading into halftime.
The second half was more of the same, until the Titans repeatedly hurt themselves with pointless penalties at the end of plays. One block in the back turned a converted 3rd down into a 3rd and 6 in which Mariota was intercepted. The Texans then proceeded to seal game with a TD.

Player of the Game: Montee Ball, RB
Recent free agent acquisition to spell Arian Foster filled his role perfectly. He provided a great change of pace and was able to run for over 50 yards and 3 TDs.

Browns defeat the Cardinals 38-7! Justin Gilbert added another pick 6 to get his total int for the season to 6(which leads the league. Josh Gordon added another 2TD receiving but some unfortunate news has been found out after a MRI that Johnny Manziel has a "Complete Achilles Tear" and has been placed on IR, Backup QB Austin Davis filled in very nicely going 10/14 125 Yards 2TDs. Browns have signed Colt McCoy to be Austin's backup QB. Dawg pound moves on to 8-0.

Soooo the Bears and Vikings were supposed to play a game this week. The Madden Gods instead turned it into a training match, and turned the Vikings into punching bags.  I think it's called karma, because before the match could even begin, Mrs. Commando could be heard in the background insulting the Final Fantasy IX avatar I employ, mistaking the hero for a woman, and insinuating that Mr. Commando was straying.

Things got out of hand quickly, and by the third quarter, guilt set in and the Bears coasted to a 40-7 victory.
Oh look, Teddy Bridgewater threw another pick...

SS Antrell Rolle seems to have found the fountain of youth in Chicago and caught three of Bridgewater's 7 picks. Sam Acho stepped up huge with a pick and 1.5 Sacks. Jared Allen keeps pushing for playing time, racking up a couple Sacks of his own.

Spotlight Players
Offensive PotYRB Matt ForteQuiet day despite 2 TDs. Bears running game is a concern. 19 Rush, 76 Yards, 2 TDs
Defensive PotYCB Kyle FullerWas he invisible, or just playing such lockdown coverage that nobody threw his way?0 Stats tallied
Rookie otYWR Kevin WhiteExplosive day. Had another big play called back.3 Rec, 86 Yards, 1 Rush, 30 Yds, 1 Rush TD.
FA Signing otYOLB Pernell McPheeHarassed Teddy. Probably forced a couple picks.3 Tackles. 1 Sack

Half way through the season and the Steelers remain undefeated with a 35-10 victory over the divisional rival Bengals.  No Bell, No Problem as OC Todd Haley put the ball in Big Ben's hands more often as Roethlisberger responded with a perfect passer rating of 158.3 after going 14/18 for 308 Yards 4TD and 0INT.  Martavis Bryant stepped up and filled the role of the third "B" in the Steelers Killer B offense as Bryant and Brown combined for 10 receptions, 256 yards and 3TD.
