AL 49 - Mizzou 17
All though the score doesn't indicate it, this was another great game between the Tigers and the Crimson Tide. After jumping out to a 14-0 lead, the Tigers battled back to make it 21-17 midway through the third quarter. After that the Crimson Tide defense took over and shut down the comeback, while the offense rattled off 28 unanswered to put them away.
Once again Chris Phillips had a great game passing, going 17-19, but his two incomplete passes were once again INTS.........sigh. He did make up for it with 3 TDs on the ground and 3 through the air.
Next Up: at Ole Miss
Players of the Game
Chris Phillips, 17-19, 254 Yds, 10 Car, 131 Yds, 6 Total TDs
Matt Smith, 5 Tkls, FF, FR

Speaking of.. would anyone be opposed to tweaking the INT slider this offseason?
I don't want to make offense easier, especially for those of you who routinely blow out the CPU, but it is frustrating when you play a near-perfect game, and one or two little mistakes will go for INTs every single time.
I think we've all had a few of those 90% completion, 2-3 INT days. Kind of crazy. Maybe we could balance it by lowering QB accuracy a bit so there's a few more errant throws, while also lowering the CPU interception slider.
If I did make any changes they would be pretty slight. Don't want to do anything dramatic that would throw off the current balance.

Yeah I think it's ok to make some changes. But make sure you know what the impact of the sliders you adjust do. They seem self described, but sometimes they're backwards or not a more/less. Might want to double check Operation Sports just in case.

Agree with with both of you on this.
Here's a link to the Operation Sports discussion on sliders.

Nebraska rolls Rutgers on the road in the armpit of America. Huskers Kicker Riley Means extends his career long of 60 yards that he accomplished Week 1 versus Mizzou to 61 yards versus Rutgers, and still had room to spare. There's officially a QB controversy for the QB job in Nebraska in the wake of Bobby Hale's injury. Johnny Stanton started before giving way to freshman Brian Kemp who showed off brilliant arm talent.
The Huskers almost pitched a shutout, but the scrub units allowed Rutgers cement footed QB to rush 68 yards up the middle seemingly untouched, spoiling an incredible defensive effort.

Yup, and that's the issue I had with Madden. Some sliders affected how touchy penalties were, like Roughing the QB. But things like False Starts and Facemask actually affected how aggressive defenders were. Hard to balance. Pitt did a great job with the set he used so far.dre1479 wrote:Agree with with both of you on this.

Yup -- OS was going to be my first stop before I touched anything. Thanks for the link. And I'll play some practice games before going live with 'em for sure.
Also, one game left:
