Season 3: Offseason and Preseason

I have no official off-season schedule set yet.
We are in the player re-signing phase. Also check your coaching staff to see if you can add anybody.

Stage #1 - Resign Players (ends Tuesday night)
Stage #2 - Free Agent Wave 1 (ends Wednesday night)
Stage #3 - Free Agent Wave 2 (ends Thursday night)
Stage #4 - Free Agent Wave 3 (ends Friday night)
Stage #5 - Draft Preparation 
Stage #6 - Draft (Sunday at 12 pm Central)

I've proposed the posted schedule above. Thoughts on what's listed?

I'm still iffy on continuing to push the league forward. Is there an active member wanting to assume commish duties for the time being? He he...duties. (LAUGH YOU IMMATURE BASTARD!)

I cannot promise I will find the motivation to reclaim the commish role for this season. There's a couple of major professional changes I'm trying to make again. I may end up dropping all the way as well. I love the GM aspects of running the team, the draft is always a blast to see how it shakes out, and I might stick around to play the occasional user games and just manage the team for CPU weeks. We'll see.

Thoughts on schedule. If the league can find a time that works for everyone, we could knock out free agency in a matter of 30 minutes as well, make it part of the draft process one night, problem is burnum's time difference in Germany...

Your plan seems perfect. I have to work late on Friday and have the weekend off so I could make myself available Thursday, Friday or Saturday night if necessary. Just make sure we don't draft on Sunday night (I have to work early on Monday).

Just a general thought - should we advertise on operationsports.com in an effort to bring in some more members to the league? Offseason always seems to be the best point to add/remove players.

If no one else steps up, I can take over advancing the league and stuff.

I could probably advance through the preseason stuff. But you'll need to find someone else once the season starts

I'll definitely run things through Week 1. I have the NCAA draft class file to simulate another season for, so that will have to uploaded.

At minimum, I'd like to hand things off after that, and if I can remain active, maybe start rotating the duties (hehe) on a regular basis. Either back and forth, or between multiple users, changing every other week, every month, something. We can play it by ear.

I have much less cap room than expected.

Second round of free agency open. And the Bears fan that is whughes can't resist himself to the former Bears I dropped in to the FA pool jumping on Earl Bennett at WR. So slow, but so balanced.

When will the draft be? I could make myself available for US evening times each of the next 3 days.

How about drafting Friday evening?

I can't do Friday unless its after 12eastern. I have a basketball game and won't be home till late

I cannot start a draft until 9 pm Central Friday. Saturday, earlier is better. Like 11 to 3 Central. We'll work it out real soon.

11am on Saturday would work for me, or after 10pm CST Friday. But not a huge deal if I miss it.

Saturday between 11 am and 3 pm (CST) sounds perfect.



Friday 9 CST would be Saturday morning, 4 am in my time so it's not a good fit at all for me. I am 7 hours ahead of CST.

Probably can't do Saturday. Sunday is best.

Does anyone know how to pull up the scouting section after you've closed it under your actions section?

I wanted to write down a manual draft board, but can't look at the rookie class anymore.

Honestly, I am completely opposed to the idea of allowing CPU trades. I know the league is not as full as it used to be which makes it harder to find trade partners.
BUT: CPU teams get blown out every week by the user teams. If we now start ripping those poor CPU teams in trades as well the gap will only get bigger.

If we allow CPU trades (I disagree with it) we should at least make sure that user teams don't use CPU teams to dump unwanted players to get something in return. If you don't want a player anymore find a human trade partner. If nobody wants your guy you'll need to keep him or cut him. Maybe we could limit every user to a maximum of 1 CPU trade per season to avoid people stockpiling picks by trading garbage/average players to stupid CPU teams.

CPU trades won't just be allowed freely. They still have to be posted and approved. In that way they will have to make sense for both teams involved.

Look at my trade block. I'm considering 2 CPU trades as players I'm looking at, and the reasons should be valid why they're listed if I was to come up with something for that team.

Can you give us like a half-hour or hour warning before you open up the free agents? Unless you are saying definitely 9PM central if when it opens?

When will trades be open? And what does the players' overall have to be?

Is that your cap space, or your Funds? Funds are how much money you have in the organization. I have 25.3 mil in funds, but cap space was under 17 mil after the draft.
