OFFSEASON SCHEDULE
Tue Sep 24, 2013 10:11 am
First topic message reminder :
I have now advanced to the next stage. Please keep in mind that there are several stages to the offseason so to keep things moving I will be advancing pretty much twice a day so that we can start Season 2 as soon as possible. Please find the remaining offseason schedule below. We are currently in the Players Leaving stage.
Players Leaving - Tuesday (9/24) 11AM EST to Wednesday (9/25) 8AM EST
Recruiting - Wednesday (9/25) 8AM EST to Thursday (9/26) 8PM EST
Position Changes - Thursday (9/26) 8PM EST to Friday (9/26) 8PM EST
Player Cuts - Friday (9/26) 8PM EST to Saturday (9/27) 8PM EST
Pre-Season - Saturday (9/27) 8PM EST - Monday (9/29) 8PM EST
Season 2 Begins - Monday (9/29) 8PM EST
As you can see there are several stages (and I did not list some of the ones that will be skipped) so I will be strict with the advance schedule in order to have Season 5 start on Friday night.
Again, we are now in the Players Leaving stage.

Is what important ... recruiting or the whole offseason? I guess that's up to you. But if you're able to connect to the internet now you can do the recruiting via the Dynasty Wire.Ken wrote:I'm not sure I can make the deadline for this. Is it important ?

I was in a recruiting battle with Mustard for a top notch ATH but it looks like the 5000 points I allocated to him during recruiting swayed him my way, lol.
Also, it looks like I got a number of commitments from guys that weren't even on my board but must have had me #1 on their list.
Not a great class but not as bleak as it once seemed.
Now to decide where these ATH will play.

Hey Steel, any idea when our freshman recruits' skills will show up (speed, catch, etc)?

I was hoping that since you were down 1000+ you would give up on him and use your points elsewhere. ...I actually didn't put any points into him at all, LOL. Spent all 10,000 on my guard prospect, because I was in a tight battle with Bama and Georgia and didn't want to risk it.
My thinking: you would have to pour a lot of points into the ATH to really feel confident about getting him, otherwise you wouldn't waste the points. If that was the case, I wasn't going to be able to keep up with you anyway, because I was going to put at least 7000 into my G, regardless.
Still, pretty happy with my class, especially since I locked up the No. 3 G in the country. He's already the best guard on my roster as a true freshman.

All done with position changes.
The cpu ended up signing a couple of scrub cbs fo me that weren't ohm my board. Don't know how I feel about that. Oh well I guess I can cut them. Actually I'm not sure which recruits ended up signing from the previous week.
Steel did you happen to see the final recruiting rankings?

Star of Michigan State's recruiting class has to be ATH Chaz Horner. Standing at 6'4" with 96 SPD, he projects to be the #2 starter at CB for the Spartans his freshman year. His combination of size and speed at the cornerback position figures to essentially eliminate deep balls to his side of the field and eventually completely lock down even the best receivers in the B1G.

CB was a big need for me and I couldn't attract any actual CB worth talking about. The only thing that kept me at him is that despite being behind, I actually gained ground on you each of the last two weeks so I figured I had a chance. He's currently my second best CB but will probably drop to #3 after progression. Either way, with so many 3WR sets in college football, he'll see plenty of time in the Nickel and Dime.MeanMrMustard wrote:Steel Pitt wrote:I was in a recruiting battle with Mustard for a top notch ATH but it looks like the 5000 points I allocated to him during recruiting swayed him my way, lol.

Although not the highest rated player, I think the prize of my class is ATH Jason Wade. He's going to play QB for the Hawkeyes and give them the scrambling QB threat they need to run the offense Coach Steel Pitt envisioned when he took over the Iowa program. He has 89SPD and 90ACC but his THP/THA is good but probably well below what Rudock will be after progression so Wade may be a package QB his freshmen year.

89 Speed, damn. I feel like I am the only team without a scrambler/option guy. I am gonna have to learn to defend the option QBs better before the season. Practice timeSteel Pitt wrote:

That's just disgusting. Like a Richard Sherman clone out there. If we play this year I wonder if he would match up with Allen Robinson. That'd be a showdown.Squirrel wrote:SquirrelHunterStar of Michigan State's recruiting class has to be ATH Chaz Horner. PSU Off-Season Write-Up
Kinda lengthy and not with the humor I sometimes add, but I wrote up a little thing for anyone interested to see what PSU is going to look like.
My big recruit ended up being a total surprise. I had this athlete I was lightly recruiting and not really putting points into. I scouted him and he looked like a RB with B Speed, which I already have plenty of so he was an afterthought. Plus he wasn't even a top rated athlete. He turns out to be 82 as a WR or 80 as a RB, with 95 speed. He has running skills with 79 route running and is probably my 2nd biggest weapon already.
As for recruiting classes, for those of you who weren't checking, from what I can recall from memory, I know me and Ken were near the top, in the Top 15. I know Va Tech and Illinois were near the bottom of all of the NCAA and I am pretty sure Nebraska and Missouri were in the 30s right next to each other. I know another team or two was near me and UCLA, but that's just what I recall from memory. So there was a lot of variety with recruiting, but it should be better next year with our XP points and Skill Trees changing.

The Irish bring in a top 10 recruiting class, headlined by the # 2 DT Bob Williams and four GEM prospects. But my best recruiting effort was convincing Louis Nix and his 99 OVR rating to return for his senior year.
