The Duel in the Desert goes to the Sun Devils, as we complete an undefeated Pac12 season. This victory was especially sweet as we beat our rival Arizona. Taylor Kelly had a near perfect game with his only incompletion coming on a dropped pass. Next week we have a bye and we will spend it getting ready for the Pac12 championship game. We'll be watching the scoreboard to see what happens between SMU and Houston as well. We are hoping that with a Houston loss we will move into the #2 BCS spot but SMU is getting first place votes in the both the Coaches and Media poll so that is not likely. We can't control that but we can control is whether we win the Pac12 championship or not. Hopefully that will push us into the BCS championship.
Next Up: Bye Week
Players of the Game
Offense: Taylor Kelly, QB, 31-32, 406 Yds, 9 Car, 32 Yds, 6 Total TD
Defense: Solomon Means, CB, 5 Tkls
RECRUITING UPDATE
We had four more signees this past week bringing our total so far to 16.
Tony Turner is another 3 star steal and Phillips and Baker will have a chance to earn playing time during spring ball. Either way, we will be very deep for the next 3-4 years at many key positions. This will allow us to highlight specific players who perfectly fit our offensive and defensive scheme and not have to rush them onto the field.
NATIONAL RECRUITING RANK: #7 Up from #16

No. 5 Mustangs let title hopes slip through their grasp
No. 2 Houston 29, No. 5 SMU 22
HEARTBREAK CITY — A late TD drive by No. 2 Houston and uncharacteristically sloppy play combined to dash the SMU Mustangs' hopes of a national title.
After 60 minutes of football, it all came down to two series for SMU — the first and the last.
On the opening drive of the game, the Mustangs moved the ball at will, marching to the goalline, for what looked to be an easy 3rd and short completion. But the receiver dropped it.
Coach June Jones called the FG unit out for a 19-yarder, ushering OC Mr. Mustard's offense off the field. But the kicker missed it.
The end of the game was the same song, second verse. After the Mustangs took a 22-21 lead in the 4th quarter, only to have their defense cough it right back up, Neal Burcham drove the ball into Houston territory, only for things to fall apart all over again.
Fourth down. 12 to go. Burcham hits his man in the hands.
And the receiver drops it.

Air Force vs Colorado State game gets stuck in the "Loading" screen twice as neither team makes it onto the field.
The coaches agree to simulate the game in which the Falcons come away with a 19-7 victory and finish the regular season undefeated in conference play.
