RECRUITING UPDATE
We are putting the finishing touches on back-to-back #1 recruiting classes. We had four more signings this week:
McKinley is a gem prospect who looks to join Ricky Stephens and Marcus Johnson as replacements for Chris Phillips in two years. I will probably redshirt at least one of them next year, and another the following year, so that we will have the QB position locked down for several years. Early Wilson is a 3 star recruit but is a 78 overall that projects to play at RB/FB. We have 8 scholarships left, and 8 targets on our board. Looking to lock all eight of them up before heading into the offseason.

AL 45 - AUB 34
Our winning streak against Auburn goes to 4 years straight. Our seniors have never lost to Auburn but this game had to be the toughest of all the wins. This game was difficult because we made it difficult! After taking a 14-3 lead, with the ball, Chris Phillips throws a INT. AUB scores to make it 14-10 and then we fumble the kickoff...............................Of course AUB scores again to take the lead. We score to take a 21-17 lead into half but really should have had a bigger lead. In the second half, we just couldn't get consecutive stops on the AUB offense. We finally stopped AUB on a 4th and goal on their last drive and ran the clock out to seal the win. Definitely need to address the turnover issues that we have been having in the past two games during the bye week in preparation for the SEC championship.
Speaking of the SEC, we are one win away from sealing our 3rd undefeated season in conference play in the last four years. Our one conference loss in four years came in a user-vs-user game in which the CPU played my opponent. Looking forward to sealing the deal in Atlanta.
Next Up: Bye Week

Husker fans are stunned when starting QB Bobby Hale shows up with a doctors note saying he's been cleared to play. Thank you Dr. Nick Riviera. The broken ribs lasted 13 weeks, at least 3 weeks longer than expected. It took Hale an opening series to get the cobwebs cleared out, but on Nebraska's 2nd drive of the game, he hit freshman WR Landry on a slant who raced 61 yards for a TD. The game was a bit back and forth as Iowa held a 10-7 lead most of the 1st half. With 1 second left, Nebraska goes for a TD on 3rd and Goal instead of the safe field goal, and finding nobody open, Bobby Hale races into the end zone to put Nebraska up 14-10 at half. The Huskers would not relinquish the lead. The second half had some great moments too. Including a botched punt return by Nebraska when the man blocking the gunner engaged the defender and touched the ball giving Iowa the ball inside the 10. On an Iowa TD, three Husker defenders were photographed diving at air as the Hawkeye back scampered past the pylon. Iowa kept it close until psychic DB coverage worked in Nebraska's favor to put the Black and Gold away.
