Ga. Tech upsets Oregon 23-10. Yellow Jacket D made up for their bad Week 1 performance in a big way. Marcus Mariota had a horrendous game going 9/20, 3 INTS and De'Anthony was contained and only had 57 yards rushing.
Vad Lee was steady for Tech. 81 yards on the ground, 6/9 through the air with one pretty TD pass to the corner of the endzone (I wish I had saved the highlight). And NO Turnovers! That was where the game was won. There and Oregon's abysmal tackling had a hand. My guys were bouncing off of everything.
Degenerate, I could tell you were getting frustrated. Did you have all your defensive adjustment settings set to aggressive? GG

Iowa's Prayers Are Answered on Hail Mary
The Iowa Hawkeyes, fresh off their season opening upset of Oregon, traveled to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers in Neyland Stadium. This game started off going back and forth and would continue that way until the final buzzer. Both teams came into the game 1-0 looking to stay unbeaten in 2013. The Iowa Hawkeyes finally got their running game established this week as they combined for 169 yards on the ground and four rushing TD's. While the passing game accounted for 325 yards, it also saw 4 interceptions thrown, a QB switch and a switch back to the starter. Tennessee's no huddle attack gave Iowa fits as the two teams traded scores threw 3 quarters.
Fast forwarded to the fourth quarter where the fun continued. After throwing his second pick in the game midway through the third quarter, Coach Steel Pitt, benched starting QB Jake Rudock and gave the ball to the junior backup, QB Cody Sokol. After an errant first pass attempt, Sokol calmed down and engineered a scoring drive capped off by RB Mark Weisman's 2 Yard TD plunge. The Iowa defense came up with one of their few stops in the game forcing the Volunteers to punt with around three minutes remaining. Iowa had the ball, a 7 point lead and a chance to put the game away with a FG on the ensuing drive. With 2:30 left on the clock, Coach Steel Pitt and his coaching staff didn't want to get too conservative and decided to throw the ball on second down. QB Cody Sokol made his first mistake and it was a costly one as his pass on the out route was flat and the CB jumped it hard and returned it for the game tying score. Coach Steel Pitt quickly put starter Jake Rudock back in the game and he quickly threw his third pick of the game on the next drive. In a matter of moments the Hawkeyes went from a 7 point lead and the ball to a tied game and trying to at least hold onto overtime. After 2 plays, the Volunteers found themselves with 3rd and 3 from the Iowa 31 and looking to get into FG range. Tennessee milked the clock down but on third down, DT Darian Cooper got through the line and recorded a sack. The loss of yards forced the Volunteers into fourth down and having to punt the ball. Tennessee punted with 10 seconds on the clock and it rolled into the end zone with 4 ticks remaining. After a delay of game penalty the Hawkeyes were 85 yards from the endzone and one play remaining. As Jake Rudock dropped back he could not believe his eyes as a horrific blown coverage allowed the RB Damon Bullock to run untouched down the sidelines. Rudock threw a perfect strike and Rudock raced the end zone as the Hawkeyes won 35-28.

It looks like just one week into the season and Iowa and Nebraska's rivalry is off to a sizzling start. Both Coach Jeanneret and Coach Pitt won't square off until after Thanksgiving, but both have offered a top, nationally-ranked talent that calls the midwest home.
DE Brad Golden confirmed with ESPN reporters that the two institutions had indeed offered. Asked whether he would visit Lincoln for the Heroes Game was met with just a wink and a smile. Watch this battle develop in the young season. Who knows, Golden may even commit before then. Insider sources have Nebraska with the early lead.

A pass rush specialist that will need to add size to his frame and show he can keep the speed at the next level. Not a Jadeveon Clowney type freak athlete, but a pure speed rusher a la Dwight Freeney. Undersized, but quick.

Nebraska absolutely rolls the CoLOLorado Buffahoes 45-7. A 21 point first quarter was all Nebraska needed, but even the second team had success moving and stopping the ball with ease.

michigan state's run defense decides not to show up and freshman qb damion terry's 3 picks in the red zone prove to be the difference as MSU gets UPSET by western michigan 42-35.
i've never seen a team be able to run outside so easily over and over again. read options, stretch plays, tosses, you name it, it all worked for western michigan. so bizarre.

With such a quick advance I didn't have a chance to do a Week 2 write up so I didn't get chance to acknowledge that the new #1 team in the country is The Ohio State University. The Buckeyes should be able to roll through Ball State (although don't look past them ... see Michigan State). If they do win it will set up quite a game in Week 3 vs VA Tech.

Pitt, I'm sorry for the restarts. Every time I had completed the game and won, it would say that changes were made and i was forced to restart the dynasty and the game didnt count. It did it 3 times and just irritated me to death. I just wanted to let you know that I wasn't restarting on purpose, it was the damn games' fault.

Well it took all of two games for Tommy Rees to turn into Tony Romo with 5 INT's, despite gaining 30 first downs to Michigan's 6 and out gaining them by 200 yards 2 pick 6's were to much to over come. The computer defense was shedding blocks and jumping for INT's at a ridiculous level, the only bright spot was the running of GA3 but it wasn't enough to over come Devin Gardner's 4 td passes on 10 attempts. It leaves Brian Kelly pondering where we go from here at QB with 3 straight user games upcoming, practice this week will be an open competition for the keys to the car and the true freshman just might win the job. Ohio State spots Ball state a 24-7 lead early into the 3rd quarter, behind Braxton Millers 3 INTs and a lost fumble... Once the Buckeyes stopped turning the ball over on every drive they were able to launch a furious comeback, scoring 4 straight TDs to take a 35-24 lead late in the 4th..
I really had no business winning this game... I'll enjoy my time at #1 for now, because No way I am going undefeated...with 5 user games, i am looking at 5-6 losses this season for sure..

You may be right. I wonder if there is something in the program where the CPU plays tougher, even super human, in the beginning of the season and then comes down as the season goes on. In my Syracuse Dynasty the CPU was crazy early in the season as I lost to Northwestern and struggled to beat Army at home.BK_Buckeye wrote:This supports my belief that sometimes the computer decides the winner prior to the game begining... only, it never happens to Steel...lolSquirrelHunter wrote:yeah. i couldn't believe it. i have two linebackers over 90 OVR and a defensive end at 93 OVR and they could.not.stop.an.outside.run. it killed me haha.Steel Pitt wrote:WowSquirrelHunter wrote:michigan state's run defense decides not to show up and freshman qb damion terry's 3 picks in the red zone prove to be the difference as MSU gets UPSET by western michigan 42-35.

Super human is an understatement, I was throwing deep outs and a linebacker 5 yards from the line of scrimmage jumped 10 feet in the air and picked it off. Another pick came when a DB who was trailing another receiver jumped a route with 3.0 40 yard dash speed. And lets not even talk about the block shedding, all I could do is laugh I had no chance winning that game. My best corner literally got shook to the ground leaving the receiver open for a 1 play 65 yard TD. I'd be amazed if someone goes undefeated with the CPU on HGH...lolSteel Pitt wrote:You may be right.
