2016 Season - Week 17

This song has nothing to do with the theme for the week but I've been playing my R. Kelly playlist at work lately and rocking out to the song. lol

Its the final week on the AALoA 2016 Season and for the Bengals, Colts, Patriots, Bills, Jets, Chargers, Broncos, Packers, Panthers, Saints, Eagles, Giants, Rams and 49ers this week's game only has meaning in that its their final chance to strap up and get some XP before the off-season begins, playing for personal gains and an attempt to end someone else's playoff hopes depending on the matchup.

For the rest of the League here are the playoff scenarios:

AFC

Clinched

Browns clinched AFC North Division
Texans clinched AFC South Division
Raiders clinched AFC West Division
Dolphins clinched AFC East Division
Ravens clinched playoff spot (#5 seed)

Scenarios with a Win

Steelers clinch #6 seed with a win
Browns clinch #1 seed and home field advantage with win
Texans clinch #1 seed and home field advantage with win

Needs a win and some help

Raiders clinch the #2 seed and a first round bye with a win and a Texans loss.  They can still possibly get #2 seed with a win and a Browns loss (no head to head, same conference record, unsure of how system calculates next tie-breaker)
Jaguars, Titans and Chiefs all need a win and a Steelers loss for playoff consideration (still dependent on system tie-breaker calculation)

NFC

Clinched

Redskins clinched NFC East Division, #1 seed and home field advantage
Vikings clinched NFC North Division, #2 seed and first round bye
Cardinals clinched the NFC West Division
Bear clinched playoff spot (#5 seed)

Scenarios with a Win

Bucs clinch NFC South with win
Falcons clinch NFC South with win
Cowboys clinch playoff spot with win

Needs a win and some help

Lions and Seahawks both need a win and a Cowboys loss for playoff consideration (still dependent on system tie-breaker calculation)
Bucs/Falcons loser still in contention for wild card spot if Cowboys lose depending on tie-breakers.

GAME OF THE WEEK

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Atlanta Falcons vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

There are plenty of great games in this final week with playoff scenarios all around.  Home field advantage is up for grabs in the AFC when the Browns meet the Texans in a game that features two users that have had two of the more dominant runs in AALOA history.  However, both of those teams are already in the playoffs.  Not the case in Tampa Bay where the Bucs host the Falcons in a user vs user matchup, winner take all for the NFC South crown and a guaranteed playoff spot.  The loser can potentially still get in but will need all kinds of help starting with a Cowboys loss and then football voodoo magic.  Can Jameis lead the Bucs to a division title in his second season?  Will the Falcons defeat the odds and win what is essentially a road playoff game for them?

With so many good games and playoff spots at stake, please feel free to post in here when the games will be streaming.

Steelers Punch Ticket To Playoffs

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Unlike their real life counterparts, with their playoff fate in their own control, the AALoA Steelers came out fired up and put the game away early versus the NY Jets.  Le'Veon Bell scored 4 TDs (3 rushing and 1 receiving) and the Steelers defense held the Jets out of the end zone until under a minute to play when only the backups were in the game as the Steelers made easy work of the Jets en route to a 42-13 victory.

The win secures the #6 seed for the Steelers and gives the AFC North three playoff teams for the second straight season.  The Steelers suffered an early 4 game losing streak to fall to 2-4, however they have completely turned things around and won 9 of their last 10 (including their last 6 in a row) to finish the season at 11-5.

Raiders finish the year with a victory over the Chargers, was a tight game until a 90+ yard reception by McKinnon to seal the game.

Texans beat Browns in season finale. They started off hot getting out to a 21-0 lead, but after a couple EA server failures and some terrific offensive and defensive adjustments by the Browns, the Texans quickly cooled off. It became a close game late in the fourth but ultimately the Browns ran out of time. Final score 38-30.
