Scouting and Draft Class Tips
Fri Oct 23, 2015 4:25 pm
Somebody posted a scouting guide on reddit, and what everything means. With the offseason coming up, this should give you an idea of what the players are going to resemble that you've scouted all off-season. The player's "best" attribute is what you scout first, then their 2nd best, then their 3rd. So it should give you a good idea if you're going to scout them further.

When scouting and drafting your offensive linemen, weight matters apparently.
I found a thread of a player discussing his massive 320+ lbs OT getting schooled by finesse rushers despite having great pass block skills. On the flip side, the smaller sub 300 lbs lineman were much more susceptible to getting bullied by power rushers and not sticking on run blocking or play action.
Keep this in mind when setting your depth chart, and switching linemen positions because you don't want your small OT's moving inside and not being up to the task for you. Maybe use that depth to get a trade to find a player that fits the size you need.
You want size inside to handle DTs. At LT, you will mostly see speed rushers. At RT you'll mostly see bigger bull rushers since most teams rush right.
