Hawkeyes Run Wild Over Cyclones
The Iowa Hawkeyes extended their winning streak to 18 games and took home their third straight Cy-Hawk Trophy via a 38-13 victory over Iowa State. The Hawkeyes did their dirty work on the ground amassing 337 yards rushing and 4 scores. RB Jason Canzeri did the heavy lifting rushing 29 times for 144 yards but it was QB Jason Wade that led the team in rushing with 185 yards on the ground. Both guys had 2 rushing TD's. The Hawkeyes will have a bye before traveling to #1 Michigan State.

Bruins Notch Their First Win
UCLA Bruins beat the #25 Arizona Wildcats 41-38 in a classic game that went down to the wire. The Bruins took an early lead, but as usual they let their opponent back in. Down 4 with 3:18 to go, however, QB Brett Hundley drove down the field and then threw a 22-yard strike to WR Jordan Payton for the win.

Georgia Tech fights off the pesky Wake Forest Demon Deacons 24-21.
Despite the Yellow Jackets best attempt at being a more balanced team on offense thus season it is apparent that the Rambling Wreck need to stick with their bread and butter. Vad Lee was awful throwing the ball going 3/10 for 61 yards, but electric as usual with his legs. Lee rushed for 124 yards on 12 attempt with 1 TD. A total of 7 players received rushing attempts to steady the offense.
Wake forest tried to steal this game after GT failed to run out the clock late in the 4th qtr. With less than 40 seconds left in the game and the score 24-14, Wake Forest qb, K. Sousa, connected with T. Harris on a 73 yard prayer. The game then hinged on a onsides kick. But luckily Tech was able to make the recovery and run the clock out.
Next up: Clemson, a team that coach Truth has been blown out by in the last two seasons

Missouri falls to Arkansas.
One of those games where I had to be perfect offensively to have a prayer, and I wasn't. Defense couldn't do anything to slow Arkansas' 95 OVR offense.
Arkansas QB Brandon Allen completed 26-31 for 322 and 1 TD, and I swear, about 10 of those were 3rd down completions with 1 foot barely in bounds.

Alabama Gets Back to It's Winning Ways
After a tough loss in Los Angeles, Alabama rebounded with a resounding 42-10 win in Tuscaloosa over Illinois. Alabama made a switch at QB and started redshirt freshman Chris Phillips. He responded by going 13-17 for 210 yards 3 TDs and 1 ill-advised INT. Not sure if this is a permanent change but we will continue to evaluate his progress. TJ Yeldon got back to his usual production self by rushing for 116 yards and 3 TDs on 16 carries. Most impressive was that 98 of his rushing yards came after contact. We expect more of that as the season progresses. Amari Cooper lead all receivers with 5 receptions for 78 yards and a TD.
Our defense continued it's stingy ways by only allowing 10 points, 8 yards rushing, forcing 5 turnovers with Geno Smith collecting 2 interceptions, and 3 QBs sacks.
All and all a good effort by our team in response to our QB change and our offensive schematic shift.
Top Players: Offense
Alabama - TJ Yeldon, 16 Car, 116 Yds, 3 TD, 2 Rec, 40 Yds
Illinois - Trent Adams, 15 Rec Yds, TD
Top Players: Defense
Alabama - Geno Smith, 4 Tkls, 2 Int
Illinois - Eaton Spence, 2 Tkls, 1 Int
