Season 3

Congratulations to the Chiefs with their Super Bowl victory. Now that we have a pure GM season on our hands, let's see who really builds the "best" roster as we move the clock forward a year.

Georgia LG Philip Foster is reported to be pathetically weak for a linemen since he hates working out.

The San Diego Chargers resigned QB Christian Ponder, CB Brandon Flowers, and franchise-tagged TE Ladarius Green. The signing of Ponder does not guarantee he is the starter next year.

Longtime QB Philip Rivers leaves as a FA, as does oft-injured RB Ryan Mathews.

According to this thread http://www.operationsports.com/forums/madden-nfl-football/758243-cant-resign-players-due-lack-available-funds.html .. the dynamics of finances in this game is jacked. I wasn't able to resign anyone else after franchise tagging Green.

I went 13-3 and barely had enough funds to resign Doug Martin and tag Lavonte David, should be interesting to see how this plays out.

That isn't entirely true, most signing bonuses are paid upfront when they sign the contract. For salary cap/accounting purposes they spread the cap hit out over the life of the contract (known as prorating). It is way teams are able to manipulate the salary cap limit and spend over it. If the player is cut he has already received his money but since the team prorated it still counts against them (dead money). Roster and workout bonuses are paid out over the life of the contract but those are completely separate.

Also, just a heads up, if you franchise tag someone it takes half the tag value out of your funds. So you franchise someone for 10 it takes 5 from funds. Figured that one out!

Part of the owner mode is listening to your advisors. The fans complaints change over time, and by adjusting your prices with them, you stand to make more money. You can't scam them like last year apparently by jacking up the price and selling things anyway. I try different combos to see what works to drive in revenue.

And then roster spending. The only major guaranteed money on my defense goes to Lamarr Houston, Willie Young, Tim Jennings, and Charles Tillman. Offense is a different story. But my defense has a ton of young players, and average players that fit my style. My LBs have no pass rush skills, but they're ok in coverage and run reaction. My DEs don't have any run stuffing, but are ok at pass rushing. They're not amazing, but the cap prevents me from building out a monster defense since my offense is so top heavy with elite players. You can see the 49ers shed a ton of guys over time because they're so stacked they can't afford them.

65 overall players are not necessarily scrubs and can be great special teamers with the right attributes.

My question is this: after resigning players I'm at -$2 mil available funds. Will more be available during free agency? Or is that it?

I'm not sure Ken. You might have to cut some dead weight to fill a roster. There's no tickets/concessions to sell. Not sure if merchandise sales and league revenue sharing happen during the offseason.

Also, I haven't advance yet and I'm sorry. I have a screaming 4 year old niece who didn't like being put in time out. Either she's a klutz, or she's punishing me as revenge, and my PS4 controllers, and tv/stereo remotes are nowhere to be found (damn she's good). I'm taking her back to her house, and then have another family thing to handle. Commando will be advancing as soon as he gets home from work since the EA site is now telling me I'm not in any leagues.

You have to go to the staff screen where it shows your coach, scout, and trainer. If you can fire your coach it will show the square button down on the bottom left of the screen.

LE Derius Hall shows poor stamina.
SS Navassa Bray is the fastest player in the draft with a 4.3 400.
WR D.T. Gilmore is injured in the offseason, his ratings may take a hit, or his toughness may be low.
TE Horace Bloom is a weak as TE putting up Kicker numbers in the bench press.
