9/21 - Jackson departs St Louis, Sam Bradford declared for the future at QB
Today work horse running back Steven Jackson was traded to the Colts for a 2013 1st, 4th round draft picks and a young saftey in Joe Legford. Jackson finishes his career in St Louis as the Rams all time leading rusher and probable future hall of famer. The move now puts the Rams in great position to develop two rookie running backs Isaiah Pead and Daryl Richardson as well as contain 3 picks in the 2013 NFL draft. Joe Legford is expected to get the starting nod in game one against Calvin Johnson and the Detriot Lions. It was no secret that Sam Bradford was being shopped around but head coach Phillip Herass told the media today he will be getting not only the start but job security throughout this season and beyond as long as he performs up to standards.

Rams 20 - Packers 13
Rams advance to Conference Championship!!
In a game where defensive play from both teams stood out St Louis came away on top. In the first half the Rams picked the ball off twice but only came away with 3 points to show for it. Going into the fourth quarter the score was tied 6-6. Off a Cortland Finnegan interception Sam Bradford was able to finally get a touchdown pass scrambling around the pocket to hit Brian Quick in the back of the end zone. With a 13-6 lead on the next drive Janoris Jenkins made the play of the game intercepting Aaron Rodgers one handed while reaching behind his back. Once again Sam was able to get a touchdown pass and make the score 20-6. Then the Rams defense stood up and the Packers went 4 and out failing to convert on 4th down. St Louis was then able to milk the clock down to the two min warning and then punt the ball away. The Packers were able to drive and score a touchdown but with 17 seconds left and a failed onside kick the game was over.

Seahawks 31 - Rams 27
Rams fail to reach super bowl...
After the game Philip Herass had this to say..
"The Seahawks only ran four plays on offense all game; Play action, which we gave up a TD on a 78 yard bomb off it... I can't blame our guys after seeing that play SO MANY times in one game we bit eventually. Hell it was his one of two completions all game which were also off the same play. Then the other three plays; pitches left/right and a run up the middle.
The real ice breaker for us was one of the last plays of the game. With only 48 seconds left and the Seahawks losing 27-24 they have the ball 4th and 1 at our 25 yard line. What do they do? Go for it... at that point I could hear one of the referees even say what the ####? And of course it's the same pitch play over and over that goes for a TD and we lose 31-27."
Herass continued...
"If we didn't give up two kickoff return td's those cheap asses wouldn't be in the Super Bowl or even close in this game. I'm proud of our team, we went in with a real playbook and gameplan, none of that cheap shit that we never expected to encounter not once but now twice against the same coach.
We may have fell short of the super bowl but we feel good having PLAYED BY THE RULES."
