2017 Season - Week 11

Man, last week's game of the week was shaping up to be a drag...fest. Or was it? Drags and sweeps seem to be the in plays this year. I don't have a sure fire way of stopping every iteration of each play, if you know how to conjure the madden gods to give you psychic DBs though, that might help. Maybe telling your DBs to guess under or inside shade coverage on passes will help? Now you know why I dropped so many benjamins on Prince Amukamara's doorstep. DBs are in short supply. Tosses are more of just accounting for having enough guys spread outside.

We're getting through the toughest stretch of the year, and that's the winter blues. Everyone seems to reach a boiling point much sooner than normal at this point in the year. Take a deep breath and all will work out. That's why there is twitch footage to fall back on. And I say this repeatedly, but using a mic is a surefire way to enjoy the game more. Hearing your opponent's voice will make them far less nefarious in their mind. Unless they truly are a complete asshole, but I don't think we have one of those.

The AFC looks brutal at this point in the season. The AFC South has two 9-1 teams. The AFC West is fimrly in the Chiefs control as the Raiders stumble midseason. The Jets have the 9-1 Dolphins in their crosshairs. And the Steelers/Browns is always an epic race to the finish.

The Titans boast the league's most explosive offense, and it's not really too close in the AFC representatives. The Titans probably have more players in player of the year voting than any other team. Their Chiefs boast a great defense, but Titans are even eking out a lead statistically over the Chiefs there too. On paper, the Titans edge out the Chiefs, but both teams are division leaders for a reason.

Week 12 opens Friday night.

Ladies, and gentleman, I'd like to introduce you to Rayshon Hightower. The TE that cost Martellus Bennett a roster spot with the Bears. Biding his time in the shadows cast by Kevin White, Alshon Jeffery, and Taylor Hogan, Hightower burst onto the scene with a 3 TD effort that would make Gronk proud.

Hightower had a fairly innocent TD to open the game getting matched up one on one with a LB. But his second one came on a 3rd and long where a safety got positioned in no man's land between him and Jeffery. The safety picked Jeffery and Hightower was off to the races. His most impressive TD came on a 3rd and long where he lined up in the slot, cut on a basic in route, then broke a few different tackles on his way to a monster game.

Hightower's effort was important because the Rams run D nearly shut down the Bears rushing attack, minus one 56 yard burst by Hogan.

The Bears own defense faced another Eagles reject QB to suit up in blue and orange in Mark "Butt Fumble" Sanchez. The Sanchise put on a valiant, god-like effort in the first half, only to mess the bed and give way to McCants who put up some good desperation numbers. Prince Amukamara had another multi-pick game, including a pick six. And Iran Coleman had two sacks and a forced fumble attacking off the edge.

Of note, neither team believes it ran a single drag route and put up over 200 yards passing each. Head Spin

Suspension Note:
QB Matt Ryan and WR Julio Jones are suspended Week 12 for their 5 and 4 TD outings in a blowout over the CPU. They play the Panthers, but d-stylez is on Auto-Pilot, so it will count as a CPU game.

If d-stylez shows up, Week 16 is an option versus the Patriots.

Both the Panthers and Jaguars are on indefinite Auto-Pilot.
