Reported by several news outlets, including NBC Sports and the Chicago Tribune, Bears OLB/DE Willie Young has demanded a trade to move him out of Chicago. Sitting 4th in a pecking order of pass rushers behind Pernell McPhee, Jared Allen, and Lamarr Houston, Young has yet to see the field and live up to his large contract signed two years prior by a clueless regime. While a bit of a one trick pony, Young is a very quality pass rusher from the edge.
While not reported as much as Young's theatrics, there are rumblings that Lamarr Houston is more than unhappy with being under-utilized in the new 3-4 defense employed by the Bears. The Raiders would welcome him back in a heartbeat it seems, however, the financials are not in the Bears favor at the moment as a cap hit of $3.5 million would sit for Houston to play elsewhere. With the retirement of Jeremiah Ratliff, Houston might break the lineup at DE if he can't be moved.
Both Houston and Young excel in the 3-4. Houston is the most versatile scheme-wise.
