Season 1: Playoffs: Divisional Round

Outkast - Church -- from Madden NFL 2004 Soundtrack

What an opening we had to the Playoffs. Things kicked off with the battered and bruised Raiders unable to account for the loss of their top three offensive playmakers, falling to the Bengals 10-0. Such a heartbreaking loss. Matt Schaub is just a curse who should probably leave the league. Hopefully the auto-repair shop doesn't damage the Carr in the offseason.

Capeman and x-Zydecajun had themselves an epic throwdown, that very well should've gone to the Saints, but they done went dumb with their game management. Instead of spiking the clock to set up a short field goal in the final seconds down by two, they go no huddle and can't get the snap off in time. Before that, they went for a two point conversion to draw within two, instead of kicking the all but guaranteed extra point to get within three. But math is hard ya'll.

Yoscotty_ marched his Titans into Gillette Stadium and ultimately crumbled to the Patriots in a panic mode offense. The Patriots got wise to the Titans planned attack of HB Counters, Pistol bunch PA Fork calls, and absent-mindedly manually blitzing zone defenders from the middle of the field leaving wide open gaps for Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo to convert pass after pass. But hey, it's the sliders fault. They're too tough and you shouldn't lose by two points.

The Vikings and Bears game wasn't exciting early. But Matt Forte beasted, and the Vikings deep ball made it interesting late. Jay Cutler was nearly perfect on the day, and Alshon Jeffery showed off a wicked stiff arm on a couple of occasions. The Vikings Stephen Hill is incredibly fast, and tall, making those deep balls oh so dangerous. Then he cuts you underneath with the slant.

FAIR WARNING: We're likely going to FLY through these last few games. That's in all likelihood going to bump the draft up a week to this coming weekend. Be prepared. I'll post an alternate expected schedule.  If you don't post your availability in that scheduling post, you're bound to miss out on both Free Agency and the Draft as FA will take place the same day leading into the draft.

The Chicago Bears move on to the NFC Championship game!

Matt Forte was able to perform at an incredible level, topping the century mark with ease in back to back playoff games. The running game only got better from there as backup Running Back Kadeem Carey averaged over 9 yards per carry spelling Forte at times. Jay Cutler was once again perfect, with zero turnovers, and pinpoint accuracy all day long.

Special attention should be awarded to the defense, who sacked RGIII twice, and took away several easy reads forcing the QB to scramble for yards instead of chucking it deep.

With the 28-7 drubbing of the Washington Redskins, the Chicago Bears will anxiously watch to see who wins in the Panthers-49ers matchup. The Bears will host the Panthers should Carolina win, where a possible snowy field could be detrimental to Cam Newton. However, the Bears would have to travel to San Francisco where the 49ers absolutely annihilated the Bears early in the season when opening their brand new stadium.

Chiefs win 35-10 after a wrong button pick 6 to open the game. Chiefs lost their best wr for the rest of playoffs and will need new starting wr T.J Graham to step up against Texans.

Texans take down the Patriots but lose Mallet for the season in the process.

Houston runs the ball down New England's throat and use the clock to keep Brady off the field. When on the field, Brady looked shaken. The backbreaker came at the end of the first half, when inexplicably the Pats were passing backed up in their own territory. Asante Samuel intercepted Brady and ran back the interception for a TD and a 21-7 lead as time expired. From there on out, pressure rattled Brady and the Texans offense was able to sustain long drives thanks to some tough yards by Arian Foster.

The Texans and coach illmatic will face familiar foe Mission and the Chiefs. The two have met in the playoffs several times over the years, and I believe twice in Superbowls. With Mallet out, Alex Smith will start VS his old team. Clowney will also miss the game with a broken thumb.
