Overachiever / Underachiever Stories
Mon May 12, 2014 10:52 am
Things ar e getting a little stale so I figured I get some conversation started here. I was recently playing a game in my other dynasty and had a big game with one of my WR that isn't ranked (OVR) as highly as some of the other guys in the unit. I initally didn't start him because I was blinded by the ACC and SPD numbers of other guys but he was forced into action midseason due to injury and I've had a hard time taking him out. He doesn't make any big plays (long TD catches, broken tackles and off to the races0 but he's steady and reliable. I find myself looking his way on 3rd downs because I feel much more confident that he won't drop the ball even in traffic.
Having just come off NFL Draft Weekend we will soon find examples of this in the NFL of guys highly draft that will be busts and guys that didn't get draft until Saturday or signed as free agents that will contribute in a big way. I was wondering if yuo guys had any examples of this in our Dynasty worth sharing?
And I'm not talking about teh 5 star recruit that tore it up as expected. I'm talking about the 2/3 star recruit that came in at sub 70 OVR, maybe had to redshort a year and then back up another but turned out to be a real player down the line. Or vice versa, the 5 star recruit you expected to be awesome that for some reason doesn't make an impact.

My whole team was overachieving. I was #4 in the nation before I got busy. Lost a CPU sim. Dropped to #17. Played Bama close until DCing. I have an all white secondary that is low in ratings but I did some damage with them.
