Challenge: League Beginning

Starting Tuesday evening at some point, I will be creating the league and sending out the initial invites to everyone. DO NOT play your game unless you are facing a user opponent, and they too have accepted an invite and are ready to play. To be invited, you will have to post your agreement with the rules thread. The rules thread has been unlocked as of now.

STEP 1: Create a custom owner. (No legends allowed)
You can name your owner whatever you want. It may be your real name (I will be Eric Jeanneret), your PSN ID (I expect we'll see Owner Steel Pitt), a "real" owner (Zombie Al Davis may make a comeback), or someone fictitious (Longfellow Deeds). But you must create a new owner from scratch so that we all start at the same level, and choose one of the three available backstories.  Failure to follow this simple rule can result in expulsion.  

Top owner each season will be named as such much like a Super Bowl champion. In this way, you have 2 ways to compete and be at the top of the league. Coaches will also all be real coaches this time around so that we can hire/fire to help build the team/specialties we prefer. That way if you don't have your favorite team, you can perhaps hire away the coach.

STEP 2: Pick the team you are signed up as and update your playbook, depth chart, practice, XP, etc. while everyone joins. Planned schedule is below.

STEP 3: NO ROSTER MOVES. Not at least until the official start date is announced, and everyone has a fair chance at free agents. You may cut any needed players to reach roster requirements.

The Challenge:
Recruit new owners.  If the league can be brought near capacity, the league will officially start on Thursday, September 5th in the evening (Before Broncos/Ravens, at halftime, or afterwards).  The incentive, if the league is not filled by Thursday, any official start date will have to be pushed to Sunday, September 8th or later. I have a wedding to attend to, and will be out of town Friday and Saturday.  GoingCommandoAZ and illmatic_216 will replace Demon as the active Co-Commissioners to help moderate the forum if need be when I'm not around.

The league will be considered full enough to start when every division has at least 3 owners. The AFC East needs at least 2 more users, the AFC North needs 1, the AFC South needs 1, the NFC South needs 1, and the NFC West needs 1.

8 users have joined, there are 8 pending invites out to join.
The rest are depending on signing of the rules.
The open spots need some more recruiting done to fill some more vacancies.

Can I get dibs on Brian Waters when free agency opens up? The Cowboys just signed him in real life, and my o-line is hurting real bad with this roster set. I have only one lineman above 80 ovr. One guy who's actually going to start in real life is only a 59.  

Of course, with my luck, Waters will suck too lol

I've advaned the Franchise to week 1 of the preseason. The league is NOT officially open, so no player movements. If you play the CPU, please wait until Sunday in case more people show up. If you play an owner, and you're both in the league, then you can face off. See you guys Sunday.

How are we planning on doing FA pickups? First come first serve or waiver order?

What did you guys decide on as far as advances? I am so itching to get in but not sure how it could work timewise right this moment.

Well your Buccs are taken if that decides things...
Advances will now be dynamic. Probably every 3 or 4 days, depending on holidays and such.

Pre-Season Week 1 is now on the clock.

PLAYER MOVEMENTS:
Any signings of free-agents can be made as of 8:30 EST Monday evening. That gives you a 24 hour warning about player signings.

You can release players, you cannot sign players. The "CPU" Panthers signing Tebow and Scott will be reversed as soon as Capeman joins. As commissioner, I can clear people's caps, so that will not hinder capeman.

Pre-Season will advance every 48-ish hours. So be on top of things. Schedule future weeks now.

I wouldn't mind taking another team in AFC if that helps the lg and advancing every 3-4 days seems much more realistic than 3 advances a wk in my other "normal" lg, I def know I couldnt play there this semester. not sure right now how I can get the game, but try to see what I can work out.

Free Agency officially open. First come first serve. Don't sign other team's players on the untouchable list.

I think before Week 1 you gotta put in the Draft Classes. Have you figured that one out yet?

Good question, I'm assuming you'd have to download the rosters prior to the season starting in order to do scouting, etc.

It should give me the option at the end of pre-season before the regular season. Nothing has popped up yet.  I wasn't around in the season ticket test league when ani had started it to see when he imported it. But be sure we'll have them. 

How come I can't play my week 3 game? All my action boxes are checked!

Hey guys I got the game now. But before I officially join can someone please confirm that they finalized the player ratings before David Wilson got another case of the fumbles??

Haha yep, these rosters are over a week old. So Wilson will still have the case of the fumbles, just like he did last year.
