2017 Season: Week 6

Work, family, and way too late of nights on Destiny 2 have me dragging like crazy.  Sorry for the delay in posting an advance topic that I'm absolutely sure you were waiting to read through.

AuburnTigerFan2 is looking to join as his 2nd choice, the Redskins.  That's 3 teams in the NFC East.

We had interest from LevettUK, who wanted the Raiders.  He's yet to sign up on the forum though.

Hey! Someone is getting their first win of the young season.  If it gets scheduled that is.  Both users have been less than perfect in getting games scheduled.

Week advances no later than Monday night.

Bears win over the Ravens to get back to .500.  But the win comes at a cost as the Bears lose LG Kyle Long and DT Eddie Goldman to injuries for several weeks.  Expect Vincent Valentine to be signed from the Practice Squad and challenge John Jenkins immediately for starting time.  The Bears OLine has little depth, and any trade rumors of moving Josh Sitton for a young playmaker took a serious blow.

Mitchell Trubisky loves throwing the ball to opposing teams.  Whether he likes titties more is now in question.
Quinton Demps now has 5 interceptions for the Bears, and has returned 3 of them for TDs.  That means Demps has more TDs this season than Jordan Howard, Kevin White, and Cameron Meredith combined.  Woof.  The Bears defense helped hold the Ravens to less than 10 yards rushing, and 100 yards passing as Joe Flacco was harassed all day.  Tarik Cohen still has fumblitis, and Ka'Deem Carey is waiting in the wings ready to take over.

R-E-L-A-X was the message within the Packer locker room once again even though the front office was considering a full blown yard sale to prepare for the 2018 Season.

Green Bay came into Minnesota sitting at 1-4 with a tough road matchup with the division leader. It started off with the Vikings marching their way down field led by rookie runner Dalvin Cook. The drive faltered when Sam Bradford lobbed a ball deep down the left sideline and into the leaping hands of rookie CB Kevin King who used every inch of his 6'3 frame and vertical leap to snag the pick and set the tone for the defense. Packers would take advantage of the turnover by methodically driving down the field to take a 7-0 lead into the 2nd Quarter.

Another Bradford INT led to a 14-0 lead just before halftime. However, the Viking offense found new rhythm in a no-huddle offense and quickly answered to get on the board and trail 14-7 with just under a minute to go in the half. GB considered the cautious approach of running down the clock into the half and seeing what they could do with the ball to start the 3rd...but then realized we're 1-4 so let's see what the fuck we can do. A-A-Ron Rod-gers found an open Jordy Nelson over the middle who broke a tackle and outran the defense for a 60+ yard score to cement a 21-7 lead at the half.

2nd Half found the Packers playing a solid ball control offense of leaning on the run game and picking up clutch 3rd down conversions on the arm of Rodgers. The Packer defense would go on to intercept Bradford two more times and secure a much needed 27-14 win to hopefully save the Packer season. The Saints come into Lambeau Field next week.

First off Carlos Hyde was a beast today with 16att for 152 yds 2 tds. In the first half he made our run defensive look like a High School team! The redskins defense did cause a fumble that Josh Norman picked up and returned for a TD,but it was overturned due to the ball carrier being ruled down. Kirk Cousins threw 2 ints in the first half. The niners  defense looked as good as every. By half time the skins looked dead in the water has they were down 14-0. In the second half the redskins defense started to come alive and shut down Hyde and the niners offense. The skins scored on the second drive of the second half when Samaje Perine scored from 6 yds out. Score was 14-7. The niners answered right back to push the score to 21-7. Skins defense was still figuring the niners offense out. One the next drive the skins drive and Cousins finds Jordan Reed for a TD. The niners drive the field down to about the 30 yard line of Washington when they line up for a field goal. But wait it’s a fake and the Skins defense stands tall and gets the stop. But play in the game that turned the momentum in the Skins favor. Skins take over on downs and drive the field. Cousins would hit Pryer Sr for a TD on a crossing route. But Forbath misses the extra point. What a time to miss now the score board reads 21-20 in favor of the niners. The skins defense stands tall and forces a punt. Cousins and the offense goes to work with 1:45 on the clock and the ball on their 25 yd line. A big play on third down as cousins hit Dotson for a first down. Then a big reception by Reed to get the ball to the 30 yd line of the niners. 9 secs left and the Skins decide to kick a 40 yd field goal it’s good Skins win in dramatic fashion. Close call for the skins but a win is a win. The Redskins gave up 5 sacks today, O-Line has to be addressed in the offseason!!! 5 sacks given up will not be tolerated on this team!Perine looks to maybe be the future at HB. There’s work to be done but it’s on to week 7 for the Skins.
