Can you sub players in and out before picking the play?

Not from the play-call screen. The only play call substitutions are the formation audibles that you can cycle through.

Specific formation audibles are done on the pause screen, or pre-game from the Dynasty menu under your options.

Do you guys use the auto subs settings under the Coach Philosphy section?

Unfortunately no. You have to go to the regular pause menu and use formation subs or do it in the pre-game menu. Its too bad because that is one of the features I like about Madden, having the ability to sub a player from the play call screen.

As for the Sub In / Sub Out ... personally, I don't touch it.

I really wish you could sub like in Madden because I have quite a few RBs I want to rotate. But I also wish you could set up pre-game subs in Madden like you can in NCAA.

Are all packages in the game allowed within our league? I was toying with a new custom playbook last night and found one formation where I can use the right stick to substitute a WR or HB at QB. I assume that is ok since it's a formation in the game. It's called "Quick QB" and only available in one of my spread sets. Figured I would ask before breaking a rule.

It's allowed. Because athletes with multiple position skills are so much more prevalent, it makes sense. Posky used Denard Robinson at QB, WR, and RB a couple years ago. It was aggravating guessing where he'd line up. Thankfully he wasn't that great of a WR. king

I have my rb auto sub set at 84 sub out 85 sub in. Seems to work ok if you're just looking to rotate 2 backs.

Thanks EDJ and Truth. I think I know the answer for this, from Madden, but if you plug in a running back or certain receiver in the slot, can they still be changed in-game using the R stick packages? I don't think they will change, but just wondering.

Trying to decide how to get my 3-4 RBs all playing time.
