Random topic:
So my podcast feed has dried up a bit with me deleting the boring ones, and certain events delaying the new recordings. YouTube rescued me at work and playing random streamings/commentaries, I came across old game videos which gave me the urge to go back and play something that was collecting dust on the shelf. At one point, I literally started listening to a playthrough of Final Fantasy X from beginning to end. Sad, I know, but it got me through the work day and made me want to play it so bad I stopped the playthrough and went home a couple nights ago and started playing a new FFX file for the umpteenth time. I couldn't even force myself to finish inFamous before jumping to something new.
So the question is, are there any games that you can go back to over and over again and play through?
My picks:
MarioKart - SNES, N64
---> Just pure gold.
The Legend of Zelda
---> Any of the top-down old-school versions. The 3D ones suck in my opinion.
Final Fantasy IV, VI, IX, X, XII
---> Love me some solid RPG's that helped define their console generation. Still waiting for that epic PS3 one (maybe Skyrim?)
Roller Coaster Tycoon
---> Completely random choice, but assorted relatives have a copy of this game in some form, and I refuse to download it to my computer because it will suck my soul away. Every time I visit and come across some downtime with them, this gets fired up.
(Super) Tecmo Bowl
---> I can play season after season of this.
NBA Jam
---> Boomshakalaka.
Bomberman
---> Simple, classic, addictively competitive.

I downloaded a Nintendo Emulator and still play:
Legend of Zelda
Mike Tyson's Punchout
I don't have Pac Man but I always play it when I see it in an arcade.
As for the PS2/3 ...
Any Grand Theft Auto. I don't relaly turn on the PS2 anymore but GTA San Andreas is still awesome. I still to this day put GTA IV. The replay value on that game is incredible. I beat the story with the kids a long time ago but I still love turning it on to just do some random killing or go online and get involved in quick game like Death match, Car Races, Turf Wars, etc.
I can't wait for GTA V (hopefully they actually come out with one).

It's in production now. People have snooped job listings looking for voice actors to work with the studio that's handled the previous games.Steel Pitt wrote:I can't wait for GTA V (hopefully they actually come out with one).

I downloaded NBA Jam for my IPhone. Currently in my 4th season and the 12-14 minutes it takes to play a game makes the day go by so much quicker, haha.
I had Roller Coaster Tycoon growing up and it's amazing how much time I spent turning my park into a giant metropolis of roller coasters and hot dog stands. That one and Sim City. Those devoured my time.
