2017 Season: Week 17 Open

Playoff race update: The #1 seed in the NFC is set for the Seahawks.  The #2 seed appears to be the Cowboys' to lose.  Should Dallas lose, and the Vikings win, the #2 seed goes to Minnesota. Should the Cowboys lose and the Bears win, there's a three way tie at 12-4 and I don't know how that goes. The Packers are guaranteed the final wildcard spot with a win. The Eagles need a win versus the Cowboys and a Packers loss to claim the wildcard spot.

The AFC is still looking for their #2 seed. The Titans must win to guarantee it.  Should they lose and the Bengals win, it's a 12-4 tie that I assume goes to the Bengals at this point. The AFC West is still undecided between the Chargers, Raiders, and Chiefs.  The Colts need a win regardless. But the Chargers and Ravens need a loss.



The Madden AI was a bit off a week ago.  It kept the playoffs in play for the Packers. And it set up this matchup between the Bears and the Vikings with the NFC North on the line, and maybe even a first round bye. And then there's the Rookie of the Year race between Trubisky and Cook. Should be an exciting game.

The Bears are you NFC North champs.  Trubisky put on a show with a perfect passer rating, three TDs, and an 86% completion percentage. The Bears safeties each had major interceptions to end possible scoring threats. The Bears defense could not get much of a pass rush without a blitz, but the blitz was enough to throw Bridgewater off balance.

Dalvin Cook had to leave the game early with a bruised sternum. The injury cost him his season goal of 1200 yards Rushing.  He's currently slotted as the NFC Offensive Rookie of the Year. It will be interesting to see if Trubisky did enough to leapfrog him.
