2017 Season: Week 2

Man, what a shit way to kick off a season.  With a fucking hurricane.  Keep pushing along.  We'll pick up momentum as we go along.

I posted about my loss to the Falcons.  And Pitt posted about the Rams latest attempt to make it back to the second season.  I'd love to hear what everyone else's games were like.  It really adds a lot to the league.

Weekly Matchups

Bears vs Buccaneers
Vikings vs Steelers
Patriots vs Saints
Titans vs Jaguars
Packers vs Falcons

CPU vs Browns, Eagles, Panthers, Seahawks, Rams, Cowboys, Lions

It is on you to schedule a game with your opponent.  It's is not up to your opponent to reach out to you.  Make the effort.  PSN Message, Discord PM, Forum PM, Text Message, all of the above.  Let each know when you can fit a game in to your schedule.  If your opponent has not responded to you within 24 hours of advance, there is a #scheduling section on discord.  Tag your opponent and @Commissioner to bring up the lack of communication.  This is the only way sim games will be awarded.

Might as well dub this the hurricane bowl.  Not sure on availability.  But this looks like a very intriguing matchup between neighbors.

Week advances no later than Tuesday night.
For those of you affected by Irma, let me know what difficulties you may be having.

The Chicago Bears rebounded against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 2.  The game was close for the most part, but things fell apart in the second half for Jameis Winston.  With no Jordan Howard, Tarik Cohen stole the show, eclipsing the century mark thanks to an 83 yard sprint up the middle of the field, and leading all receivers in catches.  Old man Quintin Demps showed Eddie Jackson that the SS job was not being relinquished any time soon.  Demps sacked Winston, and had two pick sixes.  Winston would throw 4 picks total, and Willie Young would scoop up a Winston fumble on a sack and rumble in for six.  Mitchell Trubisky was efficient and played turnover free football.

Packers fall to 0-2 with another heartbreaking loss in Atlanta. A game that started with neither offense able to do much in the first half became a back and forth shootout in the 2nd half with each offense moving down the field with ease.

Falcons scored late in the 4th to take a 21-17 lead with :48 seconds remaining. Green Bay had all 3 timeouts and felt as if they had enough time. 2 strong passes from Rodgers got the Packers to the ATL 35 quickly. Rodgers was late throwing the ball to an open Cobb on a sideline switch and the Falcon defender was able to get over and make the interception to end the game.

Redskins 23 - Rams 13

The Rams were coming off an impressive opening day victory filled with big plays (50+ yard TD in all 3 phases) and were rewarded with a packed house for their Week 2 battle with the Washington Redskins.  Unfortunately, the party was ruined by poor play by the home team.  While the defense their best to keep the Rams in the game, second year QB Jared Goff did his best to ensure that the Redskins secondary all got chances to touch the ball by throwing them easy picks (4 in total).  Head Coach Eric Dickerson was too distraught to check on who the Week 3 opponent was.
