2016 Season: Week 8
Completely unrelated to Madden. I'm not a Drake fan. But my alma mater has been on a mission to get Drake to visit Drake's campus ever since I graduated. Lately they've been photoshopping him onto campus to try and get his attention as he's ignored the Drake swag they've spammed him with at public appearances. They may have got his attention this time. He visit Des Moines today and hinted he may swing by.

Anywho, back to Madden. It's Trade Deadline week. Any GM's have any magic up their sleeves to build their team for a playoff push? Or will you pull a 76ers and tank for some picks? What a stupid question right? Who would spill their intentions?
At the midpoint of the regular season, we have two undefeated squads left. The Colts and Eagles are run by traditional powerhouses in Yt and Pitt, so no real surprise there. Illmatic, Nour, and Nike are right behind them at 6-1 making the NFC East one of the most talented divisions in football.
In the AFC North, APoc has a new challenger in beachlife. Both teams are at 4-3 at this point. Nickoftime and King_Hippo are battling for a wildcard spot in the South and could make a jump if Yt falters. The NFC North is a middling mess of mediocrity. I love alliteration. After the Packers escaped Chicago, it's the Vikings turn to beat down the toothless Bears. All three teams are ranked 19, 20, and 21st in the league in records. The NFC South is in a similar situation as well, all 4 teams are within 2 wins of each other.
Yt enters the week with the most prolific offense in the league. My Bears are pathetic, being the only team with less than 100 points scored. And that's without a bye week yet. SteelPitt's Eagles have shown their talons boasting the best scoring defense in the league, only allowing 78 points. Posky and his Lions must be playing basketball on turf because they've already given up 226 points.

Game of the Week

The quitely dominant Raiders will take on their twin logo brothers in the Buccaneers. BigSteve could really make a statement in the NFC South that they're not going anywhere. The Faclons hold the early division lead, but they'll have a tough matchup versus the Packers. Capeman is always tough, but jacquito is no slouch.
Week advances no later than Thursday night.

Redskins 10 - Bengals 42
The Les Miles led Bengals are continuing their dominance even across the pond. With speculation that Cincinnati couldn't repeat their offensive showing last week with Miles calling the shots, he proved that he has learned from his mistakes.
Andy Dalton joined an elite group in London as he finished the game with a perfect QBR. He was 15-19 for 274 yards with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions. He hit his go to target AJ Green 6 times before Green was pulled early in the 3rd quarter to prevent any unnecessary injury. Despite only playing a half Green had a monstrous day with 173 yards and 2 touchdowns. Brandon Lafell continued to be a deep threat as he caught 2 passes for 43 yards and a touchdown. After reuniting with his college coach, Jeremy Hill has been a force as he again broke 100 yards (149) and punched it into the endzone 3 times, but he did fumble once in the 4th quarter which gave the Skins great field position and led to their only TD. Defensively, Carlos Dunlap had himself a game as he had 2 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. Geno Atkins and CJ Wilson also finished the game with a sack each with Geno also forcing a fumble late in the 4th. The defense was also able to come up with 2 interceptions (Karlos Dansby and George Iloka) which helped hold Washington to only 10 points. The kicking game was the only weak spot as Nugent missed a 41 yard field goal as well as 3 extra points.
In other team news Dre Kirkpatrick refused to resign with the team which has led to his demotion from starting corner in an effort to develop our team's future at the position. Also backup TE Tyler Kroft has suffered a knee cartilage tear that will sideline him for at least 7 weeks.

With some luck, the Jags get back in the win column, 31-20 against a tough Titans squad. It did not start well, the Titans RB duo of Murray and Henry could not be tackled. A missed Titans extra point and 2 point conversion had them up 12-0 going late into the second quarter. The Jags finally got a drive going and scored on the HB Toss from the 2 yard line on 4th down. The titans would stall and punt leaving the Jags at mid field with 2 seconds left. A pass interference penalty would give the Jags a FG oppertunity with no time left, making it 12-10 at the half. First play of the second half, Allen Hurns would haul in an 80 yard TD pass, and the Jags would roll after that. Defense, would shut down the running game just enough and two Jalen Ramsey INTS would wind up sealing it. GG nick, you got some tough breaks.

Unfortunate disconnect robbed Packers-Falcons of a good game. It came at about 1:50 in the 4th, GB leading 21-18 with a likely 4th & inches scenario at the Falcon 40.
Spoke w/ Tru & I think we're gonna try again if we find time and set it up so GB leads by 3 at the start of the 4th & then just go from there probably

The San Diego Chargers lose to the Denver Broncos 38-10.
QB Kevin Hogan who replaced QB Philip Rivers earlier in the season fractured his forearm in the first quarter. Rivers came in to relieve him and proceeded to throw 3 picks and lose 1 fumble.
The Chargers put Hogan on IR and immediately signed QB Johnny Manziel after the game.
The Chargers are 0-8 and could realistically lose all 16 of their games.

Cowboys come from behind to beat the undefeated Eagles, 20-17.
This one was tight throughout -- Dallas took an early 7-0 lead after a heavy dose of Ezekiel Elliot on the opening drive. He would finish with a solid 90 yards on 24 carries against a stout Eagle run defense.
The second and third quarters were a defensive battle; Dallas took a 10-0 lead into halftime, but it wouldn't last. The Eagles pulled back to within 3 in the third thanks to some strong running from Ryan Matthews and Kenjon Barner.
Later, after back-to-back passes to linebackers by Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott (who was filling in for an injured Tony Romo), the Eagles would put together a long, clock-eating drive down to the Cowboys' Red Zone.
Here's where the game got crazy: A massive sack knocked Wentz out of the game, and Chase Daniel came on facing a 3rd and 22. But fresh off the bench, the Mizzou alum took advantage of a risky corner blitz by the Cowboys to throw for a first down on a flag route. With first and goal around the five, Daniel connected with another former Tiger, Dorial Green-Beckham, for the go-ahead TD.
The next possession, Dak fumbled on a sack, giving the ball right back to Philadelphia just inside the 2 min. warning. But the Cowboys D would come up big, forcing a FG and getting the ball back with 1:34 to play.
Left with no timeouts on the ensuing drive, Dak was brilliant. Dez came down with a huge circus catch along the sideline to get things started, then Dak showed some series poise for a rookie, taking what the defense gave him — even if it meant dumping it off over the middle and burning some clock — as he marched down the field.
He would eventually spike it with 10 seconds to play on the 14, then hit Witten on an in-route right in the soft spot of the zone for the go-ahead TD.
Dallas improves to 4-3 with the win, while the Eagles fall to 6-1.
Next up: Another CPU game against the Browns
Player of the Game:
TE Jason Witten, 5 catches for 53 yards and the GW TD

When it rains, it fucking pours. Everything is on fire in Chicago as fans riot in the streets wanting to burn Brian Hoyer, fire the staff, and euthanize the McCaskey family.
It was so bad Jay Cutler quit. He was placed on the injury report with Wailing Vagina Syndrome of the back. But we all know he was just snapping pics with his wife in the locker room. Brian Hoyer was benched for Connor Shaw, but not before throwing three interceptions and proving incapable of hitting a receiver anywhere past the line of scrimmage. And Ka'Deem Carey was the best QB on the field.
His first carry of the game, Jeremy Langford squandered an Adrian Amos interception by fumbling the ball right back to Minnesota. Langford was promptly benched in favor of third string rookie Jordan Howard who was the bright spot of the offense.
The Bears defense was unable to generate any sense of a pass rush. And Teddy Bridgewater was able to float around and wait for a receiver to open up. The defense's morale victory came in limiting Adrian Peterson to less yards than carries. But that tiny thing even broke in the 4th quarter.
Fuck you Chicago.
Fuck you Cutler.
Fuck you Madden Gods.
Fuck you Hoyer.
Trump for President. (Okay, it's not that bad)
