As we embark on Season 2, we've all had some shakeups with the roster, some small some significant. After a year of playing with your squad, building certain players confidence and attributes up via XPs, etc what will the player award nominations for your team look like heading into the 2016 season (season 2).

2016 Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers are coming off a 14-2 season that ended in the Divisional Round of the playoffs. This was a well put together and complete roster in the eyes of Owner Steel Rooney, which was evident by the lack of major signings in the offseason. Going into season 2, here are the pre-season award nominees:
OPotY - QB Ben Roethlisberger
Coach Tomlin and OC Todd Haley want to run the ball and they have the reigning AFC RB of the Year in the backfield. Le'Veon Bell will get his touches but the success of this offense will be predicated on the play of Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben was among the league leaders in QB Rating, Passing Yards and TD which resulted in the Steelers having the 2nd best scoring offense in the league. The Steelers were able to overcome Bell being out of the lineup for 4 games last year, but were not able to overcome bad games from Big Ben. Expect the equation to be the same this season.
DPotY - FS Mike Mitchell
SS Shamarko Thomas won the AFC Defensive Player of the Year Award last season and the team expects him to have a big season again. With that said, it was FS Mike Mitchell who patrolled the back end on many occassions and led the team in INTs. In a division with Brashad Perriman, Josh Gordon, AJ Green and Percy Harvin, expect Mitchell to get plenty of opportunities for INTs as opponents take their shots deep with those targets in mind.
RotY - CB JT Dansby
As mentioned, the Steelers roster is pretty complete with no much room for a rookie to get some PT. The only rookie currently penciled in for definite PT is CB JT Dansby who will be the team's primary kick and punt returner with the trading of Dri Archer to the Redskins and desire to take Antonio Brown off the punt return team for fear of injury. Dansby has sprinter speed and will be asked to provide the high octane offense with good field position.
FAotY - TE Coby Fleener
While there weren't many big acquisitions by the Steelers, they certainly went off script and shelled out big money for the pass catching TE. Owner Steel Rooney, after consultation from the staff, invested big money in Fleener to be the replacement for the aging Heath Miller and to add yet another weapon in an offense that already includes Le'Veon Bell, Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant and Markus Wheaton.
BONUS
Breakout Player - OLB Bud Dupree
After being relegated to special teams his rookie season after being drafted in the first round, OLB Bud Dupree is slotted to be the team's starting OLB opposite Arthur Moats following the retirement of James Harrison. What he lacks in experience compared to Harrison, he certainly makes up for in athleticism as his presence will infuse more youth and speed into and already young and aggressive lineup.

OPOTY
QB Johnny Manziel
Before getting hurt last season Manziel was leading the MVP race and leading the Browns to a surprising 7-0 record. Now with new additions Percy Harvin, Marlon Brown and Chris Matthews along side incumbent Josh Gordon and the best OL in the game with Crowell running the rock the future is high.
DPOTY
CB Joe Haden
With Justin Gilbert known as a fellow shut down corner and Tramon Williams departing to the Eagles Haden will be asked to do a bit more in the secondary, while still mentoring Gilbert and 2nd Round Pick Rookie CB Matthew Riley(who ran a 4.3 40 at the combine).
ROTY
CB Matthew Riley
Projected as a mid-round pick Owner MGD Nike demanded that Coach Pettine take him with the 64th pick to help him flourish behind Haden and Gilbert. He is listed as 5th on the Depth Chart but is also returning kicks/punts with Percy Harvin.
FAOTY
LOLB Tamba Hali/WR Percy Harvin
Two veterans, two people who have big shoes to fill. Percy Harvin(along with Chris Matthews and Marlon Brown) are tasked in helping replace WR Dwayne Bowe who was released by the team but had 12 Recieving TDs last year. Harvin started off with a boom catching 8 balls for 233 yards with 1 TD while rushing for 32 yards on 1 attempt with a TD. Tamba Hali isn't filling as big as shoes as he is filling/swapping play time with Barkevious Mingo but shined in his debut with 1 sack and 1Int.
Breakout player - HB Duke Johson
Coach Pettine had enough faith in Isaiah Crowell and Johnson to let RB Robert Turbin go in Free Agency to Denver. "Crowell is expected to be the workhorse but Johnson will get his fair shot to shine" said Owner MGD Davis.

OPOTY
QB Teddy Bridgewater
This is the year Teddy starts to take over the offense. With an aging AP, the time is now for Teddy to step up and be the franchise leader. Drafting a WR in the 1st round this year should help fuel the passing game for Teddy 2 Gloves.
DPOTY
LB Anthony Barr
Barr will be asked to be the leader of the defense and with his speed and athleticism, he should fill that role nicely. If the D-line can apply the pressure that's needed, Barr should benefit from that greatly.
ROTY
WR Devonta Bridges
With some of the offensive lines needs addressed in free agency, the Vikings went into the draft with a best player available strategy and walked away with Devonta Bridges in the 1st. With a mix of speed and catching, he hopes to give Teddy another weapon in the passing game.
FAOTY (aka NewcomerOTY)
RB Latavius Murray
With AP starting to get up there in years ( ) Murray will come in and share the workload to keep AP fresh and eventually take over as the lead back. Having just signed him to a new deal, he'll be wearing purple for a while and has some big shoes to fill.
Breakout player - CB Trae Waynes
After sitting his rookie year 4th and 5th on the deep CB depth chart, he looks to step in as the nickel corner and eventual full time starter to pair up with Xavier and beef up the already deep secondary.

OPotY- QB McGhee
Skins finally got a real qb in the 4th rd. Kid has superstar potential and already miles ahead of Grif. Skins owner said he looked like a clone of Tyler Bray. 30 tds is not out of question.
DPotY- J.Ward- though his measurables are not great, he performs. Rock of the defense.
RotY- WR J.James- Just a lil guy but with superstar potential and the speed to break a game open, he looks to have big year.
FAotY- Aquired via trade- RB D.Archer
Has the potential of NFL mvp. He can catch and run. Could be a J.Charles clone.

OPOTY
Jerrick McKinnon
After being traded out of APs shadow this young kid plans to show the league he is a great back in his own right. The owner himself went on record to say he envisions him as a LaDanian Tomlinson type back with his cut back ability and his sure hands. With the backing of the brain trust in Oakland don't be surprised if this kid goes over 2000 yards from scrimmage this year.
DPOTY
Khalil Mack
After spending a year with his hand in the dirt the Raiders switched to a 3-4 defence to allow Mack more room to roam and establish himself as not only one of the premier young defenders but one of the best defenders period. Expect big things from this kid.
ROTY
Clarence Blake
After making the mistake of taking JaMarcus Russell over Megatron the Raiders were not going to make the same mistake. After two weeks this young wr has already surpassed Cooper in terms of targets and it seems this kid has the trust of his rookie qb. With breakaway speed and a fearlessness over the middle you can see big things for this kid and the entire raiders offence. They are young and ready to show the league they aren't to be slept on.
New-comer of the year
Josh Norman
With money to spend in this years FA the raiders threw some money around and landed their two biggest priorities in LT Glenn and Norman. With the move to a zone blitz 3-4 the raiders needed Norman as he not only for what they wanted to do but he gives them that true shutdown corner they have lacked since Charles Woodsons first time with the team.
Breakout of the year
Jeron Johnson
After years of being behind Kam Chancellor this former Seahawk gets the chance to play enforcer on an up and coming Raiders defence that loves the boom he can bring to this secondary. With a rookie FS Johnson will be looked at as a mentor to this young core as he has witnessed what it takes for a team to become a great defence and get to the super bowl.

WR Keenan Allen - Last season, Allen led the team in targets, catches, yardage, and touchdowns. With the Chargers moving focusing more on the pass, Allen will continue to dominate.
DPOTY
MLB James Laurinatis - Along with MLB Brandon Spikes, Laurinatis was the team's biggest FA signings. Laurinatis is a tackling machine and the team will need him to help shore the defense.

WR Antuan Rhodes - A steal in the 3rd round for the Chargers, the rookie wideout has already scored 4 touchdowns in 3 games. He is a great compliment to Allen and WR Stevie Johnson.

What he lacks in experience compared to Harrison, he certainly makes up for in athleticism as his presence will infuse more youth and speed into and already young and aggressive lineup.
Now that the regular season has ended we can take a quick minute to reflect on some of the individual performances that stood out before re-focusing on the upcoming playoffs.
OPotY
Pre-Season: QB Ben Roethlisberger
Winner: RB Le'Veon Bell
Roethlisberger had a solid season as he threw for over 4,000 yards and 27TD on 66% completion percentage. However, the cog that made this Steelers offense go was RB Le'Veon Bell. Last year's AFC RB of the Year followed it up with another stellar season combining for almost 2,000 yards from scrimmage (1,309 rushing / 632 receiving) while scoring 14 total TDs.
DPotY
Pre-Season: FS Mike Mitchell
Winner: SS Shamarko Thomas
Thomas was last year's winner as well as the AFC Defensive Player of the Year in 2015. There would be no let down in 2016 as Thomas led the team Tackles (98) and Interceptions (4) while adding 4 TFL and 1 TD.
RotY
Pre-Season: CB JT Dansby
Winner: RG Nick Jordan
The rookie OL was not inserted into the starting lineup until mid-season but he more than held his own once he was given the starting nod. Jordan helped pave the way for Le'Veon Bell's outstanding season and, not coincidentally, it also coincided with the Steelers late season winning streak.
FAotY
Pre-Season: TE Coby Fleener
Winner: TE Coby Fleener
The Steelers shelled out a lot of $$$ for the FA TE with the ability to cause matchup problems. That is exactly what he did as he clearly established himself as a great compliment to WR Antonio Brown. Fleener finished the season with 53 receptions for 1,024 yards. Coby Fleener would go on to lead the team in yards per catch (19.3) as well as receiving TD (10).
Breakout Player
Pre-Season: OLB Bud Dupree
Winner: OLB Bud Dupree
Bud Dupree definitely justified his insertion into the starting lineup following the retirement of James Harrison. The second year LB finished the season with a team leading 8 TFL and 6 sacks.

OPOTY
Pre-Season: Jerrick McKinnon
End of Season: Jerrick McKinnon
Honourable mention: Harris Skinner
With big hopes for McKinnon coming into the year, the Raiders brain trust look like geniuses for flipping Murray for McKinnon. McKinnon had a great year amassing just over 2000 yds from scrimmage, his numbers jump out at you reminding everyone of your great all purpose backs like Marshall Faulk or LT.
1382 Yds 12 TDs 0 Fumbles
48 REC 644 YDs 6 TDs
Mention goes to Harris Skinner more on him in the ROTY spotlight.
DPOTY
Pre-Season: Khalil Mack
End of Season: Sean Weatherspoon
Honourable Mention: Aldon Smith/Khalil Mack
Sean Weatherspoon had a great year after years of being looked at as a bust he finally had a year showing what he was capable of as a playmaking LB, he lead his team in tackles was 3rd in TFL lead them in Forced Fumbles with 4 finished 2nd with 4 Ints and also scored a TD. This looks like a bargain for what the raiders paid him in FA.
Aldon Smith and Khalil Mack each had a disruptive year as Smith had 18 TFL and 7 sacks whip Mack had 13 TFL and 7.5 sacks with each adding a INT each, but neither could put up the all around effort Weatherspoon put up.
ROTY
Pre-Season: Clarence Blake
End of Season: Clarence Blake, Harris Skinner, Marques Montgomery
How could we give the nod to just one of the 3 rookies who absolutely changed the whole course of the franchise.
Blake had a phenomenal year when taking into account he was not targeted much the last few weeks as Skinner needed to see what he had with Cooper and Montgomery, still Blake totalled 90 rec 1792 Yds and 17 TDs.
Skinner put up a MVP caliber season with a QB RTG 128.5 4001 YDs 43 TDs 16 INT with an added 199 Yds and 4 TDs on the ground. Not bad for a QB taken in the 3rd round with a projected 6th round value.
Marques Montgomery came on as a slot receiver about mid way after impressing in the return game. He finished with 2506 all purpose Yds, 35 REC 746 YDs 7 TDs 21.3 avg as well as 1298 KR yards and 462 PR Yds with 2 PR TDs.
Great first draft by rookie GM/Owner.
New Comer of the Year
Pre-Season: Josh Norman
End of season: Jerrick McKinnon
With Norman having a good first year with the Raiders New comer of the year went to McKinnon as he had a great first year, consideration also went to Weatherspoon For his first year as well.
Breakout of the Year
Pre-Season: Jeron Johnson
End of season: Jeron Johnson
We considered giving yet another team award to McKinnon but decided Jeron has been in the shadows long enough. Jeron Johnson put up a great year as the starting SS finishing 2nd in total tackles with 94 as well as 7 TFL he had not INT but forced 3 fumbles as well as he only allowed 3 catches against.
All in all a great first full year for The Raiders under new ownership as Nick deserves GM/Owner of the year for the offseason he put together.

Had Manziel not been hurt he would be the clear winner but with Matt Scott and Tarvaris Jackson under center Crowell has been the constant pro finishing the season with over 1500 yards and 15TDs(1,269 Rushing 12TDs, 393 Receiving 3TDs)
DPOTY:

Here's a pic of some white guy named Matthew Riley. No, unfortunately this is not my CB.
Considering the Browns only kept two rookies from there draft class last year Riley was an obvious choice as a lock down #4 CB in Dime situations and an electric Kick/Punt Returner with over 1,000 yards and 1TD(Kick Return) and finished the season with the second best Kick return average with 27.8.
FAOTY:
Pre-season: LOLB Tamba Hali/WR Percy Harvin
Winner: LOLB Tamba Hali/WR Percy Harvin

Hali and Harvin grouped together this year to help the Browns
Both were slated as huge adds in the offseason and both played well. Hali finished the season with the Most sacks(7) and second on the team with 5 TFL. Harvin lead the team in Receiving yards with 891, second in receptions(43) and TDs(5) while also adding in a rushing TD. Harvin also notably had a huge game this season with 8 receptions for 233 yards and 2TDs.

LOL at the random white guy Matthew Riley pic.

Wow. You were not lying when you said you felt you were really good at drafting, lol.
