For the first time in his 14-year career, long-time San Diego Charger tight end Antonio Gates will be wearing a new jersey and playing for a new team. The Chargers and Gates could not come to terms on his diminishing role on the team as well as the length of the deal, leading the veteran to enter free agency. For the Chargers, it is about their other tight end, LaDarius Green, who they want to give more snaps to. Gates, a first-ballot Hall of Famer, says he hopes to play “three or four more years.” Among the teams courting him, the Detroit Lions remain the frontrunner.

It won't seem right seeing the big fella in another jersey.

Ohhhh Posky. We all know the Lions are drafting a WR in Round 1 to pair with Megatron, Ebron, and Pettigrew. Gates will just be there to be an expensive paperweight on the bench.Ken wrote:Among the teams courting him, the Detroit Lions remain the frontrunner.
