Season 5: Week 3
Sad day for the 49ers as Chris Borland announced his retirement due to concussion concerns. Set to earn $500,000 for 6 months of work, you have to respect his guts to walk away from it all. Hopefully he finds success away from the NFL. And now the media is running wild trying to push the narrative that the NFL is dead. Sigh.

A playoff matchup. As long as it's not raining, it should be a good game. Daryon Allen is a stud. Lacy is deceptive getting to the outside. Rodgers vs Newton is always interesting, and both teams are loaded at WR.

Jaguars advance to 3-0 after a 21-11 win over the Raiders. The bad news coming off this win is that the Jags will have to face both Dallas and Washington on the road without their starting quarterback. Peyton Manning was in injured late in the 2nd quarter during the Raiders game suffering from broken ribs.
The defense was able to hold the team together putting up two interceptions of their own and a few forced fumbles. DB Gratz nabbed two and brought one home to the endzone for six in the 4th quarter of play. Also rookie QB Jelan Pierce was able to show that he could hold his own. Whether or not the rookie QB can do it for two straight games on the road will be another question all together.

FYI Twitch is completely crashed at the moment. Not sure how long it will be down, but you'll be unable to stream games until they get the issue sorted out.

The Bears demolish the Seahawks to open the season 3-0 with a 41-6 victory. The Seahawks vaunted defense is basically a solid DE, a freak MLB, and the Legion of Boom secondary, and on offense it's Russel Wilson and Jason Witten. Not much else really, and they're easy to gameplan for Russel sprinting for his life at the snap.
Alshon Jeffery was quiet when lined up with Richard Sherman, but ran circles around Byron Maxwell. Mario Jeter was on point, J.T. Lofton was busting off big runs. On defense, the Bears collected 11 sacks as a team, and almost ran out of Linebackers to field to avoid suspensions for stat padding. Rookie 3-4 DE Deshaun Savoie ended up taking snaps in the 4th quarter while the rest of the linebackers pulled pranks on the sideline. Also, there were 4 fumbles in the game, it was absurd how many big hits I was witness to.

Packers fall to the Panthers, 35-28, in a wild offensive shootout. Both teams decided their inept run games had no use today & let Aaron Rodgers & Cam Newton display their superhero talents. Combining for about 800 yds passing between them, Newton was near perfect all day with 3 scores & no INTs while Rodgers threw 4 TDs & 2 INTs that started & ended the game.
If you can rewatch the stream fast forward to the 4TH Q & watch strike after strike. I think there were 4 TDs in the final 3-4 minutes. The Packers worked their way downfield to tie the game at the end but a pass was taken out of Cobb's hands by a Panther DB, with 4 seconds remaining on the Panther 10 yd-line and the Packers had a TO remaining to give it one last shot but that hope was taken away.
Possibly the wildest offensive shootout I've had in Madden 15.

I saw the finale. It was indeed an epic showdown worthy of the GotW moniker.
The 4th quarter starts at the 31:00 mark of Capeman's video.

The Chargers a tough loss at the hands of the superpowered CPU Cardinals, 28-21. First, they lose RB Carlos Hyde in the 2nd quarter to a dislocated wrist. Rookie RB Ethan Richardson took over and had a TD, but could only muster 8 yards on 9 carries. Then, MLB Sean Lee fractured his foot and is out for 8 months. Finally, the Chargers had a chance to win it inside the 20 yard line as the time expired, but WR Keenan Allen could not haul in the pass.
Damn, actually thought I was starting to have some luck against the CPU.
