Keenan Allen has potential to break any play. He trucked my DB and was off to the races. Even though Antonio Gates is his best receiver, he really knows how to bait you into covering him to open up another part of the field. Quick snap. Quick snap. Quick snap. Oh lawd the quick snap. In all seriousness though, he stresses your defense to be ready at any second. Rarely audibled, and kept the tempo up. Had moderate success running the ball inside and out. Only ran it once, but ran a wicked HB Zone Split play where the pulling TE was used as a lead blocker and Danny Woodhead cut behind him for a huge gain.
Next year, be on the lookout for Connor Shaw as his option QB. I injured him for the season (un)fortunately, but has big gain potential running the ball.
DEFENSE:
I always love to play Ken's defense because he is not afraid to dial up exotic blitz packages to catch you off guard. I was jumpy at start want to throw the ball right away in fear of pressure, but noticed he dialed things back a bit this time around. Users LBs and Safeties. You can attack his user and bait him out of position and try to throw deep.
SPECIAL TEAMS:
Always returns the kickoff if he can, no matter deep he is in the end zone. Always punts out of bounds to prevent returns. Good kick return coverage to prevent things outside, opens up the middle though, and I thought I might try to be able to break a big one.illmatic717 wrote:Offense: Usually a 2WR set, sometimes 3WR and a TE on passing downs. Runs for short yardage, doesn't really have the players to bust big runs but likes running on 1st downs. Looks for Gates over the middle a lot and quick passes on 3rd downs. I blitzed a ton and tried making him make quick decisions. Burned me a few times, helped me sometimes. Hits checkdowns nicely.
Defense: Didn't seem like a ton of blitzes, kinda vanilla. I didn't pass much as my run game was very good. Struggled stopping the run, especially in space on the outside. McCoy killed him off the edge. Read option worked pretty well, the defensive end usually went for Vick.
ST: Great punter. Short side of the field near the sideline or out of bounds.

Offense:
Ken utilizes more Hitch and Out routes then any other owner I've played. What makes him so tough to stop is that Antonio Gates has to be priority #1. He plays him at TE and moves him around at WR. Yet, the second you focus on Gates, he hits his big weapons on the edge as both Malcolm Floyd and Vincent Jackson are deep threats with the size to out-jump any small corner. He can get tunnel vision and lock in on a receiver, but if you give him time, he'll shred you. Is adept at exploiting one on one matchups. If I wasn't in Cover 2 because of a blitz or Gates-centric coverage, he took shots deep with success. I had the most luck blitzing because I needed to apply pressure to get the ball out of Rivers' hands. His running game is balanced between Tolbert and Mathews, but it didn't do much against me in our game.
Defense:
Loved the 3-4 Solid formation when I had base 1 TE, 2 RB formations. Very balanced in his aggressive blitz/coverage calls. I couldn't pick it up and got lucky guessing what he would throw at me in any situation. Manualed with either MLB or his Safety Eric Weddle. Stout against the run, I had no success with my RB, but Cutler scrambled for two big runs.
Special Teams:
Really great Punter. Scifres was placing the ball out of bounds deep inside the 20 with ease as he refused to punt to Hester except on one occasion. Really good Kicker too. I gambled late to take the ball out of the deep part of the end zone and had success getting to the 25 yard line. Brings crazy pressure on Field Goal block attempts. Roughed my Kicker once, so he's a threat to block a Field Goal on any given attempt.

Offense
Ran the ball well inside and out with a two headed running attack of Danny Woodhead and Melvin Gordon. Not afraid to run between the tackles out of the shotgun. Will hurt you in the seams with Keenan Allen in the passing game vs zone. Did not target Antonio Gates as much as I expected.
Defense
Switched between user-ing a safety and MLB. Did a very good job of user-ing his MLB to shoot gaps and stuff the running game between the tackles.
Special Teams
Nothing of note here.
